Nationwide Guidewire Business Analyst - Consultant Level in Columbus, Ohio
*The Personal Lines Transformation (PLT) program is transforming our personal lines business across all product lines with short-term focus on the Auto, Homeowner, Umbrella and Power Sports lines. The goal is a simpler set of products that will be sold and serviced at a lower expense ratio. A common set of products will be used across all states and channels. This requisition is for a requirements release lead for Personal Lines Transformation (PLT). As the requirements release lead, you’ll facilitate requirements through the early requirements lifecycle for the PLT (Guidewire PolicyCenter) teams supporting integration, configuration, and data migration efforts. We’re looking for someone with extensive hands-on Guidewire PolicyCenter experience, skills and successful attributes such as: Functional/ Configuration expertise (i.e. Applying system analysis techniques and procedures including meeting with various resources to qualify required information, analyze and interpret requirements and support the handshake with analysts on development teams working in an Agile/Lean environment), Integration experience (i.e. Leading development of integration requirements and design aligned to technology architecture), and data migration experience (i.e. Identifying, mapping and transforming data for existing policies and products into the new system).
Skills Required and Your Key Responsibilities:
Lead requirement teams according to the assigned development project.
Property & Casualty Insurance experience and Guidewire PolicyCenter experience are must; ClaimCenter and/or BillingCenter experience with only policy migration experience is not enough.
Proven track record of creating clear, concise deliverables that reflect a deep understanding of business needs and out of the box software functionality.
Plan, facilitate, and conduct requirements gathering sessions, meetings, and presentations Experience interacting with business SME’s from various groups to elicit requirements.
Develop requirements documentation inclusive of user stories, process flows, mock-ups, data flows and gaps/decision documents.
Excellent collaboration skills and ability to influence cross functional teams and facilitate conversation that lead to agreed direction.
Excellent communication skill, both written and verbal; ability to negotiate and gain consensus in a fast-paced, changing environment is critical.
Solid planning and organization skills, can manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, flexible to changing priorities and be a team player.
Managing and/or contribution to project requirement planning. Ability to strategize with project managers on projects to assist with identifying achievable goals.
Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significance guidance.

Participate in the development and planning of the testing activities (IT, ST, UAT), including reviewing of test scenarios and scripts, based on requirements.

To qualify, you must have:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree and related work experience
Guidewire PolicyCenter Introduction/ functional certification highly preferred
3 years of relevant experience working at a financial services company or comparable experience working as an advisor to a financial services company
1 year of experience working at or advising a property and casualty insurance carrier.
2 years of experience as a member of a technology team participating in one or many of the technology life cycle phases. Could include requirements definition, architecture design, conversion, and testing.
Proficient with MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines*
JOB SUMMARY: Top level expert in one or more highly specialized aspects of IT Analysis. Acts independently or with limited direction. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. With this knowledge, develops or modifies the most complex information systems. Leads activities related to User-Centered Design Analysis including the following: Conceptual Design, including UCD and end-to-end experience design; Interaction Design, including Information architecture and workflow analysis; Visual Design, including page design and rapid prototyping.10. Leads complex user research and validation, including usability testing and contextual inquiry/analysis.11. Performs other duties as assigned.MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science management information systems, business administration, Usability and Design/Human Factors, insurance or related field is preferred.Knowledge: Sound understanding of the Nationwide business. Knowledge of the Solution Delivery Framework and Methodology. Familiarity with development methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Rational Unified Process (RUP). Knowledge in one or more technical areas that support application development, applications, or infrastructure components. Knowledge of business process framework.
